  Shenzhen, also known as “Pengcheng (the city of the roc)”, is located in the east bank of the pearl river delta. It is China's regional central city, national civilized city, national innovative city, international garden city, one of the four major first-tier cities in China, international air and sea hub, an important foreign trade port. Shenzhen a sub-provincial city, and is listed in the state economic plan. Shenzhen is the window of Chinese Economic Reform, it is the country’s first special economic zone since the Chinese Economic Reform, and has now developed into an influential and internationalized city. The city enjoys the reputations for “city of design”, “city of piano”, “city of science and technology” and “city of volunteers”. It is an important high-tech R&D and manufacturing base in southern China, owning the Yantian port (China's largest container port) and fourth largest airport in mainland China. Shenzhen is one of the most economically developed cities in China. In 2013, the city’s total GDP was listed fourth in mainland China. Located at the margin of the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Shenzhen is a beautiful coastal city in southern China. Shenzhen is a city with the largest number of exit and entry ports on the municipal borders, with its neighbour of Hongkong. On December 9, 2015, the city was ranked third in the annual rankings of “competitive cities in China”. On December 16, 2015, Shenzhen was ranked first in the “national evaluation report of government ruled by law”, with the highest score of 782.88 points. On March 1, 2016, it was listed third in the “China’s entrepreneurship city index”. And on May 9, 2016, Shenzhen took the second place in the ranking of “most attractive major cities in China”.
